Pixudi Narrows Blockchain Integrations to Neo and SKALE
Pixudi, a blockchain-based board game developed by Kapcrew Gaming, has narrowed its integrations to just two chains: Neo N3 and SKALE. This comes after roughly ten chains were initially integrated with the game. The decision was made during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session hosted on NeoPod's Discord server.
According to Alex Scoresby, founder and CEO of Kapcrew Gaming, the selection of Neo as a long-term home for Pixudi is due in part to its blockchain ecosystem, which offers additional features such as decentralized file storage network NeoFS. Pixudi uses NeoFS to store metadata, visual assets, and player information associated with the product.
The game's development began roughly a year and a half before its first public release in November 2023. Scoresby noted that the period of aggressive NFT hype has passed, suggesting that the future may involve something closer to cross-chain certificates of ownership rather than chain-specific tokens. He emphasized that blockchain should be used only where it genuinely improves ownership, portability, or trust.
Pixudi's next stage of development centers on creating a multiverse of game boards designed to offer players varied experiences across different locations, stories, and visual styles. Near-term plans include new boards, quests, tournaments, progression systems, seasonal activities, and character development.
