PlanB Slams BIP 110 Anti-Spam Fork Proposal as Decentralized Threat
Bitcoin analyst PlanB has come out against BIP 110, an anti-spam Bitcoin fork proposal that he believes would undermine BTC's role as a decentralized bearer asset.
In a recent X post, PlanB argued that supporters of the proposal misunderstand Bitcoin's bearer-asset model and have failed to learn from the 2017 Bitcoin Cash fork, when a dispute over block-size rules created a rival chain that never came close to replacing BTC.
The analyst also warned that enforcing BIP 110 would inevitably raise questions over who creates and maintains the filters and who decides which transactions qualify as spam or non-compliant.
