Plume Network has implemented a unique approach to compliance in its blockchain. Unlike most general-purpose blockchains, Plume embeds identity checks, transfer restrictions, and sanctions screening directly into its core protocol modules.

This approach targets the problem of tokenizing real-world assets like treasuries, private credit, or real estate, which requires legal compliance that many blockchains were not built to handle.

The network's mainnet launched in June 2025 and uses a consensus model called Proof of Representation, designed to strengthen data verification and accountability for asset-backed tokens.
