Pocket Bitcoin Breach Exposes Over 5,400 Customers' Names and BTC Addresses
A data breach at Pocket Bitcoin exposed names and BTC addresses for over 5,400 customers. The incident occurred through the company's support system, where documents were held in exchange with partner banks.
The affected group is divided into two: 5,120 people had their transaction lists exposed, including names, addresses, and individual transfers, but without a link to a specific Bitcoin address.
However, for 291 individuals, the breach was more severe. Their records included names, postal addresses, Bitcoin addresses used for transactions, copies of identity documents, and evidence on the source of funds.
The company, which is non-custodial, meaning it holds no keys to customers' coins, assured that the incident did not compromise private keys or customer database balances.
