Poland Crypto Bill Stalls After Lawmakers Fall Short on Override Vote
Poland's cryptocurrency bill has stalled once again after lawmakers failed to override President Karol Nawrocki's veto. The Sejm voted 241-198 in favor of overriding the veto, but fell short of the 266 votes needed to succeed.
The defeat leaves Poland without a domestic MiCA licensing system, forcing about 2,000 crypto firms to consider seeking authorization elsewhere in Europe.
This regulatory uncertainty is expected to impact market activity and adoption in Poland. The lack of a clear framework for crypto companies may lead some to seek licenses in other European countries that have implemented the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
