Poland Detains Olympic Chief Amid Zondacrypto Scandal

Poland's authorities are moving forward with an investigation into Zondacrypto, a digital asset trading platform that has been accused of ties to the nationalist opposition by the pro-European government.

The head of Poland's Olympic Committee was detained on Thursday for his involvement in the scandal. He had been backed by the previous administration and handed Zondacrypto a significant marketing contract.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk alleged that gifts from Zondacrypto's boss had influenced the opposition to block efforts to tighten regulations on cryptocurrency trading.
