Poland Politicians Press for New Crypto Bill After Veto Overturn Fails

Poland's parliament has failed to override President Karol Nawrocki's veto of a crypto bill, forcing lawmakers to draft a new version of the legislation.

The Finance Ministry is working on the new bill, with details expected in the coming days. The Sejm voted 241 to 198 against overturning the presidential veto, falling short of the three-fifths threshold required.

Polish Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański accused PiS of prioritizing crypto business interests over consumer safety, following President Nawrocki's third veto of crypto market regulations in June. The bill would have implemented the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
