Poland Prepares Fresh Crypto Bill Amid Parliament's Veto Override Failure

The Polish parliament failed to override President Karol Nawrocki's veto of legislation regulating the crypto market, prompting lawmakers to prepare a new bill.

The Finance Ministry is working on a draft, according to a Civic Coalition spokeswoman. Polish People's Party lawmaker Krzysztof Paszyk confirmed the effort and said the government would provide more details on timing in coming days.

The Sejm voted 241-198 against overturning the veto, with three abstentions. The result fell below the required three-fifths threshold, with PiS, Confederation, and Development+ voting against the motion.

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński said the incidents had no connection to his party, while conceding that Ziobro's alleged actions were a mistake. Ziobro has denied any wrongdoing and personal contact with the donor.
