Sylwester Suszek, founder of Polish crypto exchange BitBay, disappeared on March 10, 2022. His disappearance sparked a four-year-long investigation into his whereabouts and the handling of BitBay's finances.

The case is shrouded in mystery, with no confirmed sightings or body recovered. Authorities have linked Suszek's associate, Marian W., to organized crime and are investigating potential links between the two.

BitBay rebranded to Zonda in 2021, a year before Suszek's disappearance, and then again to Zondacrypto in 2023. The exchange has been under scrutiny due to concerns over the accessibility of approximately 4,500 BTC reportedly controlled by Suszek.

The merged investigation into Suszek's disappearance and Zondacrypto's finances has involved data seizures across multiple jurisdictions, including Estonia and Malta. Nicole Suszek, Sylwester's sister, has been a vocal advocate for finding her brother, launching public appeals and legal actions to keep the case active.
