Polish Crypto Regulation Bill Vetoed by President for Third Time
The Polish Parliament's lower house was unable to override the President's veto of a cryptocurrency regulation bill, marking the third time it has been rejected. The bill aimed to establish a regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies in Poland and ensure compliance with EU regulations.
The proposed law would have required exchanges to register with the Financial Supervision Authority and implement anti-money laundering measures. It also included provisions for tax treatment of cryptocurrency gains and losses.
The President's veto is seen as a setback for proponents of greater regulatory clarity in the Polish crypto market, which has experienced significant growth in recent years.
