Polkadot's dotUSD Proposal Sparks Interest as AlphaPepe Presale Surpasses $2.6 Million
Polkadot's native stablecoin proposal has gained attention after a recent double-digit rally in DOT. The proposal, known as dotUSD, would allow users to deposit DOT as collateral and create a stablecoin with a dollar value equivalent.
The first phase of the proposal uses USDT backing, while the second phase introduces DOT-collateralized vaults. This would give users an additional use for their DOT within the Polkadot ecosystem and provide applications with a stable-value asset for dollar-denominated activity.
Meanwhile, AlphaPepe's presale has raised over $2.64 million, with more than 11,600 holders participating. The current presale entry price is $0.02960, but buyers should be aware that each completed allocation raises the entry price, and the presale closure and DEX launch are set for Q1 2027.
