Polkadot's Price Surge Reverses Amid Funding Rate Shift
Polkadot's recent price surge has come to an abrupt halt. The asset had surged by over 35% in just seven days, but a 9.85% decline at press time reversed part of that gain.
The sudden drop in price left many wondering if Polkadot was losing demand or simply clearing leverage before another move. Several indicators pointed to a potential rebound, but Liquidation data kept the downside risk alive.
According to CoinGlass, Polkadot's Funding Rate had turned positive and reached 0.0037% on September 11th. Positive Funding Rates indicate that longs are paying shorts, suggesting that leveraged positioning has shifted towards buyers.
However, Long Liquidations still remained high at $892,620 over 24 hours, compared to Short Liquidations of $53,930. This imbalance showed that the recent decline still punished leveraged buyers.
