Pollak Defends Coinbase's ETH Sales, Says Contributions Overlooked
Coinbase founder Jesse Pollak has responded to criticism over the company's sale of Ethereum (ETH), saying that its contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem are being overlooked.
Pollak stated on social media that Coinbase is one of the largest institutional ETH holders, excluding digital asset treasury companies known as 'DATs', and that it has made significant contributions to many developments in the EVM and Ethereum roadmap through Base.
The company introduced millions of users to the Ethereum ecosystem through its Base network, according to Pollak, who added that Coinbase held approximately 150,000 ETH over the years during market ups and downs.
Pollak urged the Ethereum community to refrain from constantly criticizing the protocol and companies using its ecosystem, arguing that a hostile approach would harm it in the long run.
