Pollak Pushes Back on Coinbase ETH Sales Criticism
Coinbase's sale of Ethereum (ETH) has been met with criticism from some in the community, but Coinbase founder Jesse Pollak says this view is misplaced. According to Pollak, Coinbase's contributions to the Ethereum ecosystem are being overlooked. He points out that Coinbase holds a significant amount of ETH, approximately 150,000 units over the years, and notes that the company has become one of Ethereum's largest customers through the Base network.
Pollak also claims that Coinbase has introduced millions of users to the Ethereum ecosystem through its Base platform. He argues that companies like Coinbase, which use the Ethereum protocol and develop products on top of it, should be supported rather than excluded. Pollak warns that continued criticism of Coinbase's sale could lead to large institutional users distancing themselves from the Ethereum community.
