Polygon Fixes PoS Network Flaws via Austin and Kyoto Hard Forks
Polygon Labs has addressed several security vulnerabilities in its proof-of-stake (PoS) network through two mandatory hard forks named Austin and Kyoto.
The upgrades closed denial-of-service flaws that could have crashed nodes or forced validators to perform expensive processing from crafted transactions.
The fixes were privately tested and deployed before public disclosure, with no evidence of exploitation on the mainnet.
Node operators must upgrade to remain on the canonical Polygon PoS network, ensuring improved security and network stability going forward.
