Polygon Joins Bank of England's Digital Pound Experiment
Polygon has joined the Bank of England's Digital Pound Lab to explore ways to facilitate cross-border payments using stablecoins and the digital pound. The project aims to reduce delays and costs associated with moving between different forms of digital money. Polygon will provide the smart contract infrastructure for the stablecoin settlement side, while the digital pound will run on the Bank of England's simulated test system.
The experiment is a collaboration between Polygon, NOBO Finance, and Dun & Bradstreet, and will use test infrastructure without involving real customers or funds. This partnership marks a significant step towards developing more efficient and cost-effective cross-border payment solutions. The results of this project could have far-reaching implications for the global financial industry.
