Polygon Surges on Inflows, Deflationary Narrative, and Technical Breakout
Polygon (POL) has seen a 5% surge in price over the past day due to fresh capital inflows onto Polygon PoS, a narrative that the token is deflationary and underpriced relative to its peers, and technical breakout.
According to on-chain data, Polygon PoS had the strongest bridged net inflows in the entire market over the past 24 hours, around +20 million dollars. This signals fresh capital moving onto the chain rather than rotating out. Meanwhile, roughly 46 million POL had been withdrawn from exchanges while 'on chain activity [was] spiking,' tied to 'staking yield reform' and rising on-chain usage.
Traders have pointed to a narrative that Polygon is structurally deflationary, with a burn rate near 3.5% annually and an implied valuation gap of roughly 25 times compared to TRON. This has improved investor willingness to buy dips and chase breakouts. Technical traders also highlighted a classic pattern of consolidation, breakout, and partial retrace in the price action.
The recent move appears to be the continuation of a multi-week uptrend that has picked up additional fuel from fresh inflows and a louder narrative. Systematic and discretionary traders actively engaged the chart, amplifying the breakout and follow-through over the last day.
