Polygon Surpasses 8 Billion Transactions, Sets New Stablecoin Volume Record
Polygon's blockchain network has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 8 billion cumulative transactions. This achievement was made possible by the network's ability to process transactions at a low cost, with an average fee of just $0.002 per transaction.
According to recent data from Bitget, Polygon's second quarter of 2026 saw a new high in transaction volume, with 743 million transactions representing a 160% year-over-year increase. May 2026 also set a record for stablecoin activity on the network, with nearly $80 billion in stablecoin volumes and 198 million stablecoin transfers.
Polygon's focus on payment solutions has attracted prominent industry players, including Visa, Meta, and Revolut. These companies have conducted over 1.2 billion onchain activities through Polygon, demonstrating the network's scalability and reliability.
The Open Money Stack, a suite of APIs developed by Polygon, aims to provide a single-API solution for global settlement needs. The firm is also expanding its reach through strategic acquisitions, including Coinme and Sequence.
