Polygon Taps Bank of England's Digital Pound Lab for Stablecoin Interoperability Test
Polygon Labs has joined the Bank of England's Digital Pound Lab to test whether a stablecoin and a digital pound can settle the same cross-border payment in one flow.
The company is contributing its Open Money Stack, a smart contract infrastructure launched on January 8, 2026, to handle cross-border stablecoin payments. This infrastructure will be used for the digital pound leg, which settles on the Bank's own simulated test rails.
Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron stated that this test reflects a broader interoperability problem: 'For digital money to actually move the world's trade, its different forms have to work together, public and private, central bank money and stablecoins.'
