Pompliano Predicts Bitcoin's Role in Securing AI-Generated Wealth
Anthony Pompliano, founder of Pomp Investments, believes Bitcoin will be crucial for securing wealth generated by artificial intelligence (AI). In a recent CNBC interview, he stated that AI and Bitcoin are complementary technologies over the next decade. He argues that Bitcoin will serve as a protective measure for the new wealth created by AI.
Pompliano sees no conflict between AI and cryptocurrencies, dismissing the idea that AI has supplanted them as the primary tech trend. Instead, he views AI's potential to boost global GDP through increased productivity as an opportunity for Bitcoin to shine. He urges a long-term perspective on this technological convergence, rather than seeing it from an outdated viewpoint.
The current price drop of 15% is not a concern for Pompliano, who notes that 30% or greater pullbacks are common in bull markets. Historical patterns show sideways trading in Q2 and Q3, especially in halving years. He anticipates another price rally in Q4 2024 or early 2025, aligning with past halving year trends.
Bernstein analysts project Bitcoin could reach $1 million by 2033, while also estimating a cycle-high of $200,000 by 2025, driven by spot ETF demand and limited supply. MicroStrategy's success has prompted other public companies to consider adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets, with Metaplanet announcing plans to incorporate it into its treasury assets.
