Pompliano Sees AI-Generated Wealth Secured by Bitcoin
Anthony Pompliano, founder of Pomp Investments, believes that Bitcoin will play a crucial role in securing wealth generated by artificial intelligence (AI) over the next decade. In an interview with CNBC on June 24, he emphasized the complementary relationship between AI and cryptocurrencies.
Pompliano dismissed the idea that AI has supplanted cryptocurrencies as the primary tech trend, pointing out that AI is expected to boost global GDP through increased productivity. He argued that Bitcoin will serve as a protective measure for this new wealth, stating 'An easy way to see the intersection is what money are these machines going to use?'
Despite the current 15% price drop and Bitcoin's recent seven-week low of $59,086 on June 23, Pompliano remains unfazed. He notes that 30% or greater pullbacks are common in bull markets and expects a price rally in Q4 2024 or early 2025, aligning with past halving year trends.
Major corporate investors like MicroStrategy have seen significant profits from their Bitcoin holdings, valued at over $14 billion at current prices. This success has prompted other public companies to consider adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets, such as Metaplanet's plans to incorporate Bitcoin into its treasury assets in April.
