Pons Floods Robinhood Chain with Record $5.95M in Fees
Pons, a token launchpad on Robinhood Chain's Ethereum Layer-2 network, generated $5.95 million in fees on September 1, surpassing the chain's own revenue. This record-breaking day comes after a $5.34 million day on August 30, with Pons accounting for between 50% and 80% of all activity on the chain.
The protocol has quickly become the dominant force on Robinhood Chain, capturing more than 59% of new token launches and trading volume over the past month. Pons' fee structure is a 1% trading fee on every transaction, split 70/30 between creators and the protocol itself, which funds buybacks and burns of its native PONS token.
Since launch, roughly 27-29% of the total PONS supply has been permanently removed from circulation through this burn mechanism. The token's market cap currently hovers around $150 million to $300 million, with recent trades happening at approximately $0.50 per token.
