POSCO International Completes Avalanche Tokenization Pilot
South Korean trading giant POSCO International has successfully completed a pilot project to tokenize its trade accounts receivable on Avalanche's Layer 1 network. This real-world asset (RWA) initiative was executed through its U.S. subsidiary, POSCO International America, in collaboration with technology platform Intain and trade specialist firm Olea.
The transaction featured the participation of an investor who acquired the credit rights using real capital. To register the assets, the company coordinated efforts to audit and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, credit notes, and bills of lading prior to issuance, leveraging artificial intelligence systems developed by Intain.
This framework reduces reconciliation turnaround times and mitigates operational risks associated with cross-border document management, which can take weeks under conventional banking frameworks. According to industry analysts, global corporations could leverage blockchain rails to unlock stranded working capital.
