PPI Report Triggers $363M Bitcoin Liquidation, But Bullish Trends Linger
The recent Producer Price Index (PPI) report showed a 0.4% increase in the cost of goods and services for the month, in line with expectations.
However, on an annual basis, the PPI rose to 5.4%, exceeding the Federal Reserve's target inflation rate of 2%
This news led to a decline in stock market futures, which carried over into the cryptocurrency markets, causing Bitcoin (BTC) to fall by 2.2% and reach a low of $76,464.
As a result, $363 million in long liquidations occurred across the crypto sphere, with Bitcoin remaining above its support level of $76k.
Despite this setback, short-term holder net position changes are nearing a positive shift, which could indicate accumulation trends and a potential bullish sentiment shift for BTC.
