Premier League Club Arsenal Drops €90M for Brazilian Midfielder in Crypto-Driven Deal
Arsenal has agreed to pay €90 million for Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes in a deal that highlights the Premier League's deepening ties with the crypto industry.
The transfer fee more than doubles what Newcastle originally paid for Guimaraes, who was acquired from Lyon in January 2022 for approximately £41.6 million.
Arsenal's agreement to pay €90 million triggers a sell-on clause held by Lyon, which is entitled to a €6 million payment because the transfer fee exceeds the €80 million threshold written into their original agreement with Newcastle.
