Fulham FC is closing in on a deal to sign Southampton midfielder Shea Charles for around £25 million. The transfer, if completed, would be Fulham's third signing of the summer 2026 window.

The two clubs have experimented with blockchain partnerships, and every high-profile transfer window increasingly doubles as a marketing runway for the crypto sponsors bankrolling these squads.

Fulham has previously partnered with World Mobile Token (WMT) as a crypto sponsor, placing blockchain branding in front of millions of viewers every matchday. Southampton, for its part, launched an NFT initiative tied to a kit promotion back in 2022.

The Premier League's deepening roots in professional football are evident in the crypto firms' heavy spending on shirt sponsorships, training ground naming rights, and digital engagement deals with top-flight clubs.
