Premier League's £10m Frozen Amid Probe Into Fantasy Football Cards

Share

A £10m freeze on Premier League funds remains in place as part of an ongoing international investigation into crypto-gaming firm Sorare.com.

Sorare had a licence deal with the Premier League to release digital cards of players as part of its free-to-play online fantasy football game.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) and Luxembourg authorities are investigating the firm, which allowed users to buy digital player cards through an auction or instant buy feature via credit card or cryptocurrency.

These digital cards could be re-sold to other customers, with a 'scarcity' level set by the platform each season.
