Privacy Coins Surge 213%, Outpacing Crypto Market Recovery
Privacy-focused cryptocurrencies have made significant gains in recent times, outperforming the broader crypto market recovery. Since October 2025, these coins have risen by a substantial 213%, according to data from on-chain analytics company Glassnode.
The median performance of assets among the top 200 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization is still 58% behind its peak reached during the same period. Bitcoin (BTC) remains 36% below its October 2025 high, while other sectors such as decentralized finance (DeFi), Layer 1, AI, real-world assets (RWA), memecoins, and Layer 2 have yet to reclaim their peaks.
The sector's growth wasn't limited to long-term performance. In the last 30 days alone, privacy coins gained a staggering 90% in value, making it the highest-performing category in the crypto market. This surge indicates a growing interest among investors in blockchain projects that prioritize transaction privacy and financial confidentiality.
However, this rapid rise also comes with the risk of high volatility. The significant gains made by privacy-focused assets in a short period mean that price movements may be more erratic compared to other sectors.
