Privacy Tokens Soar as Crypto Investors Flock to Anonymity
Crypto investors are increasingly turning to privacy tokens, which have seen significant price gains. Dash has reached $73.73, its highest level since January 20, while Monero surged to $560 this week, a 85% increase from its year-to-date low.
Zcash has also experienced a remarkable rise, crossing the $1,000 threshold for the first time ever and soaring by 3,460% from its 2025 low. The token's market capitalization now stands at over $17.5 billion, with all privacy tokens collectively holding a market value of over $28 billion.
The increased demand for these coins is largely driven by their use of advanced technologies to ensure transactional anonymity. Unlike Bitcoin and other public ledger-based cryptocurrencies, Monero conceals sender, receiver, and amount information using ring signatures and stealth addresses.
