Profitable Bitcoin Supply Hits New High Amid Price Surge

Bitcoin's recent price surge has put nearly 70% of its supply back in profit. The cryptocurrency briefly touched $80,000 after falling to around $62,000 just a week prior, allowing most investors to recover from their losses.

According to CryptoQuant, a platform that analyzes crypto data, the majority of Bitcoin's supply is now above its purchase price. This is generally considered bullish for the market, as it suggests many holders are regaining confidence in the asset.

However, some analysts are cautioning against reading too much into this metric. While 69% of Bitcoin's supply may be profitable, this figure has remained consistently high throughout the current cycle, with only a brief dip below 50%.

Moreover, even though many investors have recouped their losses, $617 billion of capital invested in Bitcoin remains underwater. This highlights that despite the surge in profitable supply, a significant portion of the asset's value has yet to return to profit.
