Prop Firms Adapt to Crypto Market with Mixed Results
The prop trading space has undergone significant changes in recent years, evolving from its origins as a platform for forex traders to now offering crypto trading as a fully-featured tradable asset. According to estimates, at least 31 prop firms have incorporated crypto into their offerings.
This expansion has created numerous options, but it also poses the risk of mismatched objectives between traders and firms. To address this issue, a recent evaluation compared eight leading prop firms in the space against specific features such as payout speed, consistency of rules across plans, drawdown model, leverage, crypto instrument availability, supported platforms, account pricing, payout methods, transparency, and trust signals.
The top-ranked firm, OneFunded, has established itself as a clear leader with transparent trading rules. With over $1 million in payouts to 25,000 traders across 165 countries, it offers a range of funding programs and supports popular platforms like MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and TradeLocker.
Other notable firms, including Breakout, Crypto Fund Trader, and HyroTrader, also made the cut, each with their own strengths and unique features. However, caution is advised, as pricing and rules can change frequently, and traders should confirm current terms directly with the firm before committing.
