Prusak Leaves American Bitcoin for Giga Energy Amid Shift Towards AI Infrastructure
Matthew Prusak, the president and interim CFO of American Bitcoin, is leaving his position on August 4 to join Giga Energy as its chief business officer and interim CFO. According to CoinDesk, Prusak stated that he will be focusing on upstream energy infrastructure after years of developing Bitcoin businesses.
American Bitcoin, co-founded by Eric Trump and backed by Hut 8, is a publicly traded Bitcoin mining company listed on the Nasdaq. Prusak previously led the company's strategy to accumulate Bitcoin through expanded computing power and increased per-share holdings.
The move reflects the increasing trend of Bitcoin mining companies shifting towards AI infrastructure development as electricity supply issues hinder their growth. As technology giants compete for power and data center capacity, energy integration capabilities are becoming a major concern in the industry.
