Pudgy Penguins Invades Target Shelves with Over 1,800 Plush Toy Locations
Pudgy Penguins' expansion into Target stores is a significant milestone for the brand. The company has placed its Pengu Plushies line in over 1,800 locations across the United States, marking the largest retail rollout since its inception in 2022.
Igloo, the parent company behind Pudgy Penguins, aims to generate $50 million in merchandise revenue for 2026. The brand's products are now available in more than 10,000 stores worldwide, including Walmart locations and a new push into South Korean retail.
The licensing model used by Igloo allows toy and card manufacturers to use Pudgy Penguins character designs in exchange for a 5% share of net product revenue. This revenue is distributed to NFT holders whose specific penguins appear on the packaging, but PENGU token holders are not entitled to any benefits.
PENGU launched on the Solana blockchain in December 2024 with a total supply of 88.89 billion tokens. As of early September 2026, about 62.86 billion tokens are in circulation, and insider and corporate allocations account for 29.28% of the total supply.
