Pump.fun Challenges Hyperliquid's 15-Month Revenue Reign
Pump.fun's revenue is on track to surpass Hyperliquid's for the month of August, ending a 15-month winning streak for the latter. According to recent data, Pump.fun has taken the lead with $55.9M in revenue, outperforming Hyperliquid's $49.6M.
Pump.fun peaked at near $150M a month earlier this year, while Hyperliquid maintained a steady lead over the past 12 months. However, Pump.fun's token, PUMP, has surged by about 105% in August, compared to Hyperliquid's HYPE token which gained around 49%.
The surge in PUMP's price appears to have been priced in ahead of time, as it broke out hard during the spike on the 19th before slowing down. Meanwhile, Hyperliquid has maintained a steadier pace throughout August.
Hyperliquid's upcoming upgrade, HIP-4, is expected to bring permissionless prediction markets, allowing outside builders to launch markets on various topics, including sports and macro events. This move could potentially cement Hyperliquid's position as the infrastructure under thousands of markets, but for now, Pump.fun appears poised to take the top spot in terms of monthly revenue.
