Pump.fun Expands Launchpad with Tokenized Stock Options
Pump.fun has expanded its launchpad to allow creators to launch coins priced in tokenized stocks, wrapped Bitcoin and Ether, and metals. This move brings a new level of flexibility to the platform, which had previously only offered pairs denominated in SOL and USDC.
The expansion includes 20 new tokens minted for the launch, issued by Backpack Securities, which holds the underlying shares and redeems its tokens 1:1 for real stock. The list includes Boeing, Alibaba, Webull, Costco, Dell, Trump Media, Hims & Hers, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin, Lululemon, MGM Resorts, Pfizer, Quantum Computing Inc., Roblox, Reddit, Rivian, Shopify, Snap, and UPS.
Pump.fun's Custom Pairs feature allows creators to launch coins paired with tokenized stocks, while half the revenue from these pairs goes to the PUMP buyback-and-burn contract. This move is part of Pump.fun's efforts to increase liquidity and reduce fees on its platform.
