Pump.fun Grabs 98% of Launchpad Revenue as Memecoin Frenzy Continues
Pump.fun's dominance in the launchpad sector continues to grow, with the platform taking 98% of revenue on August 9, totaling $1.118 million. This is a significant increase from its competitors, with Flap and Raydium coming in second and third with revenues of $6,541 and $5,122 respectively.
The launchpad sector has seen a resurgence in recent weeks, with token creation on Blockworks data showing over 587,000 tokens launched in a single week. However, Pump.fun's revenue is not far off what the entire sector was doing on an average day 18 months ago, indicating that competitors are falling away rather than growing.
The platform's success can be attributed to aggressive user acquisition and product updates, including a social trading upgrade that added callout alerts, zero-fee trades, and cross-chain USDC swaps. Pump.fun also offered a $20,000 sign-on bonus and $30,000 a month to switch platforms outright.
