Pump.fun Reclaims Share of Launchpad Fees Amidst Robust Market Growth
Pump.fun, a leading launchpad in the Solana ecosystem, saw its share of launchpad fees drop to 27% in July due to competition from other platforms. However, the company has since recovered and is now earning more per week than it did before the arrival of these new competitors.
The launchpad business experienced significant growth in July, with weekly fees increasing from $7 million to $18 million. This was largely driven by the success of Robinhood Chain, which saw its mainnet go live six weeks ago and has since become a major player in the market.
Two products, NOXA and Pons, were responsible for pump.fun's decline in share. NOXA, a launchpad and DEX that reached Robinhood Chain before the chain went public, earned significant fees in July but then shut down its launchpad due to issues with bots spamming new tokens.
Pons, on the other hand, peaked at $1.54 million in fees in July and has generated $18.89 million all-time. Uniswap Labs also launched a competitor on Robinhood Chain called pools.trade, which takes no launchpad fee at all.
Despite the challenges faced by pump.fun, its own weekly take climbed to a 90-day high in August. The company's share of fees has also recovered, rising above 50% after dropping as low as 27% in July.
