Pump.Fun Surpasses Robinhood Chain in Trading Volume on Solana
Pump.fun, a mobile app on the Solana blockchain, has surpassed Robinhood Chain in trading volume for the first time since September 1. The achievement marks a shift in momentum after weeks of Robinhood Chain dominating the market with its memecoin frenzy.
The cross-chain rivalry between Pump.fun and Robinhood Chain began when Robinhood Chain launched on July 1, initially focusing on tokenized equities but quickly becoming known for memecoin activity fueled by launchpads like Pons. Pump.fun integrated Robinhood Chain token trading around July 8, offering zero-fee trade routing denominated in SOL.
For a while, the integration benefited Robinhood Chain tokens, with Pump.fun's daily fees being outpaced by the Pons launchpad on August 31, which collected $4.89 million in daily fees. However, as single-day trading records on Solana crossed the $1 billion mark in September, Solana-native activity surged, including on Pump.fun.
