PumpFun Fees Surpass $10M as Solana Trading Volume Hits New High
PumpFun's explosive growth has turned it into a fee-generating machine on Solana. The platform generated $10.03 million in protocol fees from August 3 to 9, surpassing the $10 million mark for the first time. This 12% weekly increase came alongside a buyback and burn of 2.15 billion PUMP tokens worth roughly $5.02 million.
Alongside this fee milestone, ecosystem trading volume surged to $2.97 billion, the highest since late January. The jump in volume suggests that traders are not just passing through on PumpFun, but are actively speculating and gambling at speed.
The platform's ability to sustain even a fraction of this volume could lead to meaningful supply compression over time. However, token burns are only one side of the equation, as the $2.97 billion in weekly volume also means that liquidity is extremely hot and can cause sharp price swings in PUMP and launched tokens.
