Share

A land dealer from Bhosari in Pune was cheated out of ₹1.33 crore by cybercrooks who lured him into investing in cryptocurrency for high returns.

The suspects, two men from Balewadi, were known to the land dealer and introduced themselves as partners involved in trading cryptocurrency.

They convinced him to invest ₹19.7 lakh, of which ₹10.4 lakh was returned, but the remaining ₹9.29 lakh was invested in cryptocurrency, according to the police officer.

The land dealer subsequently transferred a total of ₹1.23 crore to different bank accounts provided by the suspects, who showed him fake details of cryptocurrency investments to convince him that his money was being used profitably.
