PYUSDx Platform Hits $100 Million in Scale with Custom Stablecoin Launches
The stablecoin ecosystem has reached new heights, with the PYUSDx platform crossing $100 million in scale. Launched by PayPal, M0, and MoonPay, PYUSDx gives businesses the infrastructure to create their own custom stablecoins backed by PayPal's USD (PYUSD). This innovation allows companies like Saturn, Concrete, and Cap to launch their own stablecoins on the platform.
The platform has seen significant adoption, with over $100 million in processed volume. The launch of PYUSDx marks a new phase in the development of the stablecoin market, where companies can create custom stablecoins without building from scratch or partnering with infrastructure providers.
Saturn's structured finance protocol uses PYUSDx to issue its own stablecoin, while Concrete powers onchain vault infrastructure using automated systems. Cap runs a covered credit platform that uses a portion of its native stablecoin, cUSD, which was migrated to PYUSDx as a configurable extension of PYUSD.
According to May Zabaneh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crypto at PayPal, 'The stablecoin market is maturing fast. What separates the next phase from the last isn't the asset. It's what companies can do with it.' The significance of PYUSDx crossing $100 million lies in its ability to process volume from builders using the same infrastructure in entirely different ways.
