PYUSDx Reaches $100M as Businesses Issue Programmable Tokens
PayPal's PYUSDx business stablecoin platform has reached $100 million in processed volume, according to its co-founder Luca Prosperi. The platform allows businesses to issue programmable tokens backed one-to-one by PayPal USD, giving them control over token rules, revenue, and administration.
The three live products on the platform are Saturn's Bitcoin-backed lending product, Concrete's onchain investment vault, and Cap's credit platform. These projects have processed about $100 million through the PYUSDx platform.
Prosperi explained that businesses can integrate PYUSD as an existing stablecoin or use PYUSDx to deploy a separate token with custom settings. This allows builders to set administrative roles, compliance controls, and upgrade policies for their products.
