QBT Secures USPTO Approval for ASIC UltraBoost Patent
Quantum Blockchain Technologies (QBT) has secured approval from the US Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application covering ASIC UltraBoost technology.
The patent, titled Message Scheduling for Cryptographic Hashing, aims to improve Bitcoin mining efficiency by reducing redundant computations in SHA-256 message scheduling.
While formal approval has been granted, QBT notes that the patent is not yet officially issued and several administrative requirements remain, including payment of issue and publication fees.
The company estimates that its technology could reduce logic gate requirements by 5% to 8% and lower energy consumption by 2% to 5%, offering substantial cumulative savings across large-scale Bitcoin mining operations.
