Qian Zhimin Money Laundering Case Unfolds with $1.8B BTC Discovery
An on-chain analyst known as Specter has made a significant discovery in the Qian Zhimin money laundering case. The case involves a Chinese national who was sentenced to over 11 years in prison for laundering Bitcoin proceeds from an investment fraud that targeted approximately 130,000 people in China.
According to Specter's analysis, two dormant wallets transferred 1,020 BTC across multiple addresses several weeks ago. This dispersion pattern resembles typical money laundering techniques used to obscure the trail of illicit funds.
The combined holdings of these addresses amount to 28,555 BTC, valued at approximately $1.8 billion. The movement of funds from dormant wallets often signals a change in control or an attempt to liquidate assets.
