Quantinuum Teams with Oracle for Hybrid Quantum AI Computing Growth
Quantinuum Inc. (QNT) has partnered with Oracle to bring its Helios quantum computing platform directly into the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This partnership aims to expand Quantinuum's cloud strategy and target enterprise quantum computing growth, particularly in industries where traditional computing systems face growing processing limits.
The collaboration will allow OCI customers to access Helios without owning specialized quantum hardware, enabling them to test quantum applications alongside established computing systems. Oracle plans to provide a preview of its OCI quantum service during the coming months as development progresses.
Quantinuum's Helios is a third-generation quantum computing platform that contains 98 physical qubits and has demonstrated workloads involving 48 logical qubits, with an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%. The company designed Helios to work alongside existing AI and high-performance computing environments, allowing developers to divide workloads between classical processors, GPUs, and quantum processing units.
The partnership strengthens Quantinuum's effort to position quantum systems as complementary resources for AI and high-performance computing, providing a lower-energy computing option for suitable hybrid applications. QNT shares rebounded 1.46% in extended-hours trade after the announcement, closing at $56.06 before rising to $56.88.
