Quantum Computing ETF Surpasses Bitcoin in Year-Over-Year Gains
Crypto and quantum computing are two distinct markets that have been exhibiting different trends lately. Bitcoin, currently trading at $63,529, has seen a decline of 46.5% over the past year, while the WisdomTree Quantum Computing ETF is up 28.3% year-to-date.
The technical picture for Bitcoin is weak across every timeframe, with Strong Sell signals on its daily, weekly, and monthly charts. The weekly RSI stands at 39.3, firmly in sell territory, and the weekly MACD sits at -6,015, indicating sustained downward momentum.
On the other hand, the quantum computing theme is showing relative strength, with the WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund up 25.2% over six months and 28.3% year-to-date. This ETF holds 53 stocks, 83% of which are in the tech sector, including pure-play names like Quantinuum, Rigetti, D-Wave, and IonQ.
The pre-revenue paradox is also evident in companies like Horizon, which deliberately stays pre-revenue to focus on developing true product value. This approach is seen as similar to the early stages of artificial intelligence development, where low-value professional services were prioritized over high-value capabilities.
