Quantum Solutions Sells More ETH to Fund AI Data Centers
Japanese technology company Quantum Solutions has sold another 1,000 ETH to fund its AI Infrastructure Data Center (AIDC) business. This move is part of a strategic shift from holding onto Ethereum reserves to financing long-term operating assets.
The company's board increased the maximum amount of Ethereum authorized for sale from 1,875 ETH to 4,375 ETH, allowing it to dispose of up to this amount under its revised policy. The latest transaction builds on a funding strategy announced in June, where Quantum Solutions first disclosed plans to sell part of its Ethereum treasury to finance the rollout of its AI infrastructure business.
The proceeds from the sale will be used to fund Nvidia B300 and GB300 AI infrastructure, which is expected to generate future operating revenue. However, this trade-off carries both opportunity and risk, as Ethereum's value could appreciate if cryptocurrency markets strengthen, while high-performance AI hardware typically depreciates over time.
