Rain Surges 21% After $108M Burn and Hyperliquid Listing Hits Resistance
Rain [RAIN] experienced a significant surge of 20.63% over the last 24 hours, reaching a high of $0.0176 after breaking through its established resistance level.
This rally was driven by two key developments: a DAO-approved burn that sent 7.42 billion RAIN tokens worth $108 million to a null address, permanently reducing circulating supply; and the listing on Hyperliquid, which provided traders with a new permissionless entry point to trade RAIN via an on-chain order book.
The break above the June high of $0.0169 resulted in retaining the breakout and preventing a reversion back to its prior trading range. However, the large upper wick on the bar indicates the presence of supply around $0.0195, making it challenging for RAIN to clear this level.
The listing on Hyperliquid may have a long-term impact on Rain Protocol's tokenomics, as 2.5% of all trading volumes are allocated towards buybacks and burns. Increased turnover generated by traders can reinforce scarcity and limit the effectiveness of low volume.
