Rainbow Chart Revival: Bitcoin's Long-Term Trend Takes Center Stage

The Bitcoin Rainbow Chart has regained popularity as Bitcoin recovers from its tough start to the year. This long-term valuation tool uses colored bands around a logarithmic price curve to show where BTC has historically traded in relation to its growth trend.

BlockchainCenter, which maintains one of the widely followed versions, warns that the chart was never designed for predicting prices and should be used only as a way to examine historical price trends while filtering out daily volatility. The platform's newer Dynamic Rainbow Chart uses a power-law regression on Bitcoin's daily price history since 2012 with an R² of 94.3%.

Bitcoin has had a volatile year so far, falling to a yearly low near $57,776 before recovering and pushing above its moving averages. As of September 7, it stands at around $79,835.
