Rakuten Unlocks XRP for 100M+ Users in Japan

Rakuten's integration of XRP into its vast rewards and payments ecosystem has expanded the cryptocurrency's everyday utility, making it accessible to over 100 million users in Japan.

Through Rakuten Wallet, users can convert their accumulated points into XRP, which can then be converted into Rakuten Cash. This newly created balance can be used for eligible purchases across supported services, including Rakuten Pay and Rakuten Ichiba.

This integration has the potential to bridge the gap between holding XRP as an investment and using it for everyday spending, according to Masuda, a senior analyst at Rakuten Wallet.
